Hessler Dog Beach

One of the best ways to end a day is by watching the sunset at the beach. Over the weekend we went to Hessler Dog Beach. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the dog. Paris loves jumping in the waves and swimming after her tennis ball.

going, going...gone.

Another Attack! (this time without an axe)

This morning when Paris and I were out for our 5 mile run, we came up behind a group of walkers who had a dog without a leash. Their dog was walking behind them and it looked like a mean "junk yard" dog, so I called to them and asked if they could please hold their dog. This got the dog's attention and it came toward us and started attacking Paris, luckily the dog's owner finally ran over and grabbed his dog. I ended up taking Paris to the vet. She didn't have to get stitches, but she is pretty sore and cries when she tries to walk around. Pour baby!

The Dog Always Knows!

We had kind of a crazy night Saturday. Jared has been sick and was up all night. If that wasn't enough the dog would not settle down either. She sat at the top of the stairs all night and wouldn't sleep. Of course dogs have a 6th sense; we should have known something was up. Even so, we were quite surprized when we had an earthquake at 1:30 Sunday morning.

Galavanting in the Grotto

Wow...what a great hike. Hidden in the mountains near Malibu is a mysterious maze of giant boulders, waterfalls and undergound caverns called "the Grotto".
Shane, Jared & Paris

Once in the grotto the hike is alot of bouldering. There were some scary spots for Paris, but she was sure a brave girl. There are lots and lots of waterfalls!

The highlight of the Grotto is the underground cavern. This waterfall falls into an enclosed cavern. It was so amazing...the picture doesn't do it justice.
Another waterfall.
