Our little man is 2 years old!

I love making birthday cakes and wanted to make Jake a monkey cake (he's our wild little monkey).  The top is made of rolled fondant.

Jake is obsessed with balloons.  The night before his birthday I put balloons in his room while he was sleeping.  He was soooo excited when he woke up and saw them.

 Emma was too little for cake, so she just ate the bowl instead. 

January Update

Jared turns 12!!! 

Emma's surgery came (January 10th) and went.  She ended up being in the hospital 6 days and everything went according to plan.  She caught Jake's cold when she got home, but other than that her recovery went well.  She is such a strong little trooper and we are so relieved for it to be over.

 Gwen stayed with us for the whole month of January.  She was here for Jared's 12th birthday and to help with the kids during Emma's surgery.  We took her to Brazo's Bend to see the alligators.

Happy 1st Birthday Jake!

Today was Jake's 1st birthday. I say it for each of my kids birthdays, but this time I REALLY can't believe its been a year already. Jake has been such a fun addition to our family and it makes me sad to see him get so big.

Happy Birthday Jared!

Jared's birthday was January 5th (the day after we got back from Utah). 11 years old already!!!

Jake LOVES birthdays and is obsessed with balloons. I went to Party City to get some balloons for Jared and Jake went crazy as soon as we walked in the store. He was so excited and knew we were there to buy balloons. The balloon line was so long that I decided to go next door to the grocery store to buy the balloons instead. When we walked out of the store without the balloons Jake threw the BIGGEST fit ever! He was so mad! (I'm not exagerating, ask Jenelle, she was with me) Then when we finally did get the balloons he went crazy again and freaked out when he had to let go to get into the car!

Jared got an air soft gun and of course, Legos.

October Update

Do you ever feel like you're so far behind that you'll never catch up? Well, that's how I feel about our blog right now.....Here's a little update.

Saturday afternoon at Treasure Cove. This is our favorite tide pool spot and its hidden most of the year except days the tide is super low. We always see something new. It was the first time we saw a live lobster and we saw 3 big jellyfish washed up on the shore.

The day after Serenity's birthday she lost her 1st tooth eating an apple. 10 minutes later she lost her 2nd tooth! A few weeks after that Jake got his first 2 teeth, so we told her the tooth fairy took her teeth and gave them to Jake.

Serenity's Birthday was on October 24th, she is 6 years old!
