Sushi Girl

Shane loves Sushi and he has been wanting me to try it, so last week he took us to a Sushi place. We tried some "mild" sushi (mild meaning the meat was cooked). One of our rolls had eel and shrimp. Jared knew it was eel and wouldn't try it, but we didn't tell Serenity what it was. She tried it and she loved it. She calls herself the "Sushi girl" now. You really have to click on the picture and take a good look at the eel! Oh...and by the way, I did try the sushi... eel and all. It wasn't bad.
.
Here is Serenity eating her eel!

Jared liked to eat his sushi by taking off the eel then scrapping all the rice off the seaweed, then eating the piece of shrimp and the rice dipped in the soy sauce mixed with Wasabi. (Wasabi is the very hot green stuff that you are supposed to mix into the soy sauce.)
.
Here is Jared after he accidentally ate a big chunk of the wasabi. This is his, "it's hot....I need water" face.

It's A Girl!

Congratulations Zack & Shaunna....It's a girl!

A couple days ago Jared saw a tiny orange thing swimming around in our fish tank. It turned out to be a baby fish. Rhett & Scarlett (Zack and Shaunna's fish) had a baby!

Look inside the circle for the little orange and black fish. The other fish is Jared's Ghost fish. To give you an idea of how small the fish is, compare her to the rocks. The rocks in our aquarium are about the size of your thumb nail.

I am namming her "Bonnie Blue Butler" (for those of you who are not Gone with the Wind gurus, that was the name of Rhett Buttler and Scarlett O'hara's daughter). Sadly, in the movie Bonnie's life comes to a tragic end when she falls off a horse. Don't worry Zack & Shaunna we don't have any seahorses in our tank, so I think she will be safe!

Something Smells Fishy

We are having such a great time with all of our family visitors this week. We gained two permenant visitors to our house, too. Zack and Shaunna bought some fish while they were here. Two red and gold platies they named "Scarlet and Rhett". Shane and Jared bought a platy too; I named her "mammie".
