Darn those sicky eyeballs!

Jared brought home a sticky eyeball from somewhere on Wednesday. I HATE sticky toys.... Naturally the eyeball goes missing somewhere in the entry-way. Jared told Shane it was stuck on the window, so after Jared left for school Shane stacked up some furniture to reach the entry-way window. It was no where to be found. Lucky for us, my kids are great tattlers. Serenity let us know she saw Jared throw the eyeball and knew right where it was...on the ceiling, of coarse! The ceiling is over 17 feet tall in the entry-way so Shane's brilliant idea was to stand on the stairs on throw dog toys at the ceiling and try and knock it down. At first I thought this was a bad idea, but then when the chandelier started to sway I thought, wow....I hope he ends up breaking that ugly chandelier so I can get a new one. No such luck! Shane ended up getting the pool net instead. That didn't work either, though. It was stuck tight.....this is definitely the stickiest, sticky toy ever! Shane gave up and it's still there.

Halloween Fun with Grandma

Today was the last day of Grandma Gwen's visit. Tonight she made us a crazy Halloween dinner. I think the kid's favorite thing was the bubbling witches brew.

We also carved pumpkins and made carmel apples.

Birthday Bash!

Serenity's 4th birthday was on Friday. We planned on taking her to Disneyland, so we ended up having cake and presents for breakfast (thanks for the suggestion Nicole!). David, Breanna, Bruce and Grandma Gwen were here to help us celebrate.

Serenity is our little cowgirl princess, so she was so excited to get princess toys and a princess blanket and pillow from Grandma Gwen.

Grandma & Grandpa Ludlow and Zack & Shaunna gave her a stick horse and cowgirl boots, which she loved! Last week she put on my boots and wore them all afternoon and kept saying, "I'm a cowgirl, I need some boots!" Then the day before her birthday she was trotting all around the house pretending to be riding a horse and said to Grandma Gwen, "I'm a cowgirl, I need a horse!" We gave Serenity a horse for her dolls, so now she has her horse (one for her and one for the dolls) and her boots. Next I'm sure she'll be asking for a hat!

We found Marry Poppins and Bert alone by the castle. Bert drew Serenity a picture of Mary in her autograph book. (thanks for the book Amy, she loved it!)

Serenity's favorite princess was Ariel. Serenity asked Ariel where her tail was.

FIRE!!!

This morning I woke up to frantic banging on my front door and windows. It was 2:30 a.m. and Shane was still out of town, so I was scared out of my mind to go downstairs and see who was pounding at the door. I went to the door anyway and it was my neighbor. "There's a fire, wake up the kids; you might have to leave!" I walked outside and could see the fire just on the other side of the wash, which is only one street away from our house. I woke up the kids and we got ready to leave, it was interesting to see what the kids wanted to take with them after I told them we might not be able to come back to the house for awhile. Jared took his game boy, treasure box and Pokemon cards. Serenity wanted her princess dress and tiara. By the time we were ready to leave I could see that the fire wasn't getting any closer. We decided to leave anyway and went down to the Shane's condo to get some slept.

Johnny Rockets

We had such a great time with Charley & Jenelle this week!

Pics from dinner at Johnny Rockets. The kids LOVE going to Johnny Rockets for the shakes and the nickle jukeboxes. Their favorite request is "Lollipop".

Little Corona Del Mar

Saturday we took Jenelle and Charley to our favorite beach, Little Corona Del Mar. Jared found some great pieces of sea glass for his collection. Serenity just loved being in the sand and the water and I had a great time taking photos of them all.

Please, no more Science Experiments

Jared has been doing a lot of home "science experiments" lately...aka taking Shane's chemist beaker and filling it with all different kinds of things from around the house and mixing them together to see what it will turn into. Usually he mixes things like soap, shampoo, dirt, etc.

Last night Serenity snuck out of bed, we found her in the bathroom. She said she was doing "science experiments". Here was her experiment:

Put toilet paper down the sink.
Sqeeze out all the toothpaste into the squirt bottle and spray it all over the mirror.
Turn the sink on and drench yourself with water.
Squirt soap into brother's mouthwash then in the sink and all over the counter.
Lastly, she needed to make sure she looked her best when she got caught, so she took all her hair clips and put them in her hair, she also put something else in her hair that made it all crispy and sticky, but I'm not sure what it was.

Notice in the picture: the container that holds her hair bows says, "you make my heart smile"... I would have to say that finding the bathroom sink clogged with toilet paper did not make my heart smile.

Trunk or Treat

Friday was our ward Trunk or Treat. Here are my little munchkins. Serenity, the Princess. Jared, the Dragon Slayer and Paris, the Dragon.

I love, love, love having a little princess.

The Hair

Charley, Jenelle, Serenity and Jared.

The kiddos with their plastic, pumpkin plunder.

Jenelle and Charley "horse" with another sucker, and having a great time.
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Serenity sharing her sucker with Charley.....one lick for you, one lick for me, one for you, and one for me.

Suckers

Aprons

One more thing to check off my never-ending "crazy project list"....#37 sew designer aprons.

Jenelle and I decided to do some sewing. One apron down.....and its only midnight.
3 days later we're ready to cook!

Happy "Wind"sday!

How do you know when it's "Wind"sday?

You definitely know it's windsday when.....

it's trash day and you go out to the curb to bring up the trash can and its not there. So you start walking down the road and you find it across the street, up on the neighbor's front lawn five houses down the road, then...

on your way back you see someone's mail box sitting under a tree, and when you look closer you notice it is your mailbox 3 houses away!
.
This is our mailbox, there are supposed to be 4 mailboxes, I never found the 4th.

Look at the poor flag, its all mangled and barely holding on.

Hello Goodbye

Hello-Goodbye.....that's been Shane's work theme song lately. It was nice to have him home last week. Today he's back to Baltimore for a week and a half.

Mormon Rocks

Saturday we drove over to Mormon Rocks Station and did the 1/2 mile loop hike.

Hessler Dog Beach

One of the best ways to end a day is by watching the sunset at the beach. Over the weekend we went to Hessler Dog Beach. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the dog. Paris loves jumping in the waves and swimming after her tennis ball.

going, going...gone.
