Disneyland

Jared and I spent the day at Disneyland on Tuesday with the Ludlow's and the Smith's. The kids had a blast! Michaela and Abby were so brave to try every ride and poor Roscoe wished he could go on every ride. We were all surprized and excited when we won Disney Dream Time Passes that afternoon, which let us all stay at the park an hour after closing.

"Gearing" up for the Pinewood Derby

Last Weekend was Jared's Pinewood Derby. Shane and Jared had a fun time building his car. I oversaw the paint and sticker job. Jared raced three times and took second place each time, but he got an award for the best paint job!

Graber Olive House

Shane is Jared's Cubscout den leader and last weekend we took the cubs to the Graber Olive House in Ontario. We took a 30 minute tour of the processing area (a hundred year old barn where they cure and can olives). All the adults found it quite interesting and I think the kids had fun too. They especially liked the free sample of olives at the end of the tour.

8 Years Old!

Wow...its hard to believe that Jared is already 8; which means he will be getting baptized next month. We are so excited for him and we can't wait to celebrate with all of the family.

Here Ye, Here Ye...Happy Birthday Jared!

Prince Ice of Cream (Jared's royal name) was pleased to Host "Ye Olde Knights' Tournament of the Brave" today. 13 knights and 2 ladies registered for the event and recieved new tournament names, such as... Sir Laughs-a-lot and Lady Lolly of Pop.

Here are the Knights and Ladies making their "brave face".

There were 4 rounds of competition. Round 1 - Robin Hood Bingo (Candy Bar Bingo), the kids enjoyed "stealing from the rich". Round 2 - Pin the Wing on the Dragon (Shane graciously printed a 3 foot dragon for us). Round 3 - Nerf Dart Archery. Finally, Round 4 - Storm the Castle. This was the favorite event for all the kids. I made each of the kids a wooden catapult and Jared and I built a castle, which we put in the middle of the room. The kids used their catapults to launch Marshmallows into the castle.
