Thanksgiving Week
We had a great Thanksgiving holiday. The kids had the whole week off school and Shane's mom flew in from Utah on Monday and stayed until Saturday. The kids LOVED having grandma all to their selfs. Tuesday afternoon we went to the park and later that night Shane and I had some quality time with Gwen too. The three of us went to see New Moon. Wednesday we went to Laguna Beach and Friday we went to Logan's Candies and watched them make candy canes (one of our Christmas traditions).

Mary Poppins - Practically Perfect
Serenity has talked about being Mary Poppins for Halloween for almost a whole year. She loves to watch the movie and sing the songs. I had so much fun making her costume. She looked "practically perfect"!

I found women's size vintage hand drawn patterns for the shirt and skirt and sized them down to fit Serenity. I love the gores on the back of the skirt, she wore a slip underneath to give some fullness to her behind.

I crocheted they scarf and sewed the carpet bag and the hat. Serenity saved her allowance and bought herself the parrot umbrella.

She loves her costume and has been playing "dress-up" with it every day since Halloween.

Lego Knight
Jared's Halloween costume always revolves around his choice of weapon. This year he bought himself a shield and sword at the Lego store and had me make his costume after one of his Lego knight figures.
