A Weekend with the Trainer Brother

We had a nice, stay-at-home weekend. I started the weekend early on Friday by tackling our little "jungle" in the backyard (we have been getting anxious to start swimming in the pool again; I needed to trim the flower beds so we could walk around the pool and I also wanted to plant some flowers). Most of you know I'm allergic to everything and my gardening ended up being a HUGE mistake. Later that night I was completly covered in hives, which lasted all weekend, it was miserable. But at least the flower beds look good. I planted some pink Hibiscus (on the left end)...I still have a few more to plant.

Saturday we were supposed to do the Kids Fitness Challenge 5k at the California Speedway, but Jared hurt his leg and I committed to watch our friend's 3 1/2 year old son, Kaden. Kaden stayed with us Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I had a fun time watching Jared and Kaden play together. It was a good test to see how Jared will react if he ever gets a "real" little brother. Kaden ended up being a pretty good "trainer brother" for Jared. Kaden loved playing with Paris too and watching the fish. He told us all about his fish, named "Mr. Fish" who died. On Saturday we went to the pet store and let Kaden pick a fish to keep in our tank. He named him "Mr. Fish", of coarse. (One other thing about the fish.....Shaunna you might want to sit down first, Zack and Shaunna's fish, Rhett and Scarlet and our fish Mammie died last week. I'm not sure what happened, but you will be happy to know that the two babies are still doing good.)

Jared is teaching Kaden how to play games on Playhouse Disney.com. (Notice Jared's "its Saturday, I don't have to comb my hair today" hair. Wow...that boy really needs a haircut!)

Sunday we took Shane to the airport....he will be in Baltimore all this week. (Shane, if you read this...I love you!)
