Digging for Dinosaur Bones

Jared's second grade class has been studying dinosaurs. I went on a field trip with them today to the Jurupa Cultural Center where they learned how to be Paleontologists.

First we learned what being a Paleontologist means. We learned alot about dinosaurs and fossils. This is an Allosaur claw.

We saw bones, teeth, claws and this dino egg (found in China).

Last we looked at dino tracks and dino poop (I'll spare you on that one).

Next we got our supplies (shovel, toothbrush and clipboard) and we were ready for our dig.

On our way to the dig site.

Our first find. Its a big one!

It was going slow after that. We decided to try a new spot and found something just before it was time to leave.

.
We had to leave all the bones we dug up behind, but each of us got a small piece of dinosaur bone to keep as a souvenir.
