A Happy Valentine's Day

Shane and I had a fun "getting ready for Eruope" Valentine's Day yesterday. We went to the passport office and applied for passports. Then we had lunch at our favorite French bakery.

Farewell David

Yesterday was David's last day of California sunshine before going back to cold, snowy Utah. Jared had the day off of school, so we made another trip to Disneyland.

It has been so fun to have so many of our family members come to visit. We are sad to see them go and I miss them all already....especially the little ones.

Sun, Sand, Sea Lions, Surfers, Sharks... Spectacular!

Its ironic how everyone flocks to the beach on the first sunny weekend of the year, but what can I say cuz so did we. The weather was so great last Saturday that we decided we had to get out and do something. Since David was visiting, we let him pick our adventure of the day. He wanted to go saltwater fishing, so we took a drive out to the Huntington Pier. The fishing wasn't too spectacular, but we had a great time.

We saw a sealion a few minutes after we got to the pier.

Next, Jared caught a Surf Perch...and all I caught was crabs.
Later we saw a pod of about 10-20 dolphins.

There were surfers EVERYWHERE...I counted over 100 in the water at the same time!

Eventually we packed up the fishing gear and took a walk on the beach, just in time to watch the sunset. What a great way to spend a Saturday.

Disneyland Again

Last week we went to Disneyland with the Ludlow's and the Smith's, this week we went with Christy, David, Jenelle and Charley. I had a great time watching Charley react to all the Disney Magic. She loved the Characters, especially Eeyore and Mickey.

Jared's baptism was on Saturday. It turned out to be such a special day and its hard to believe that its already come and gone. Thank you Gwen and Christy for giving the talks, both of you did such a wonderful job! Our love and thanks goes out to all of our friends and especially our family who helped us celebrate. We love you all so much!

This year Gwen shared her birthday with Jared's baptism Day. We were quite excited about that because we haven't been together for her birthday since we moved to California.

Hopefully it was a step above sharing it with the groundhogs!

(Feb. 2nd is groundhog's Day also).

Something Smells Fishy

We are having such a great time with all of our family visitors this week. We gained two permenant visitors to our house, too. Zack and Shaunna bought some fish while they were here. Two red and gold platies they named "Scarlet and Rhett". Shane and Jared bought a platy too; I named her "mammie".
